Always Looking Up
I love to read. My author choices are as vast and varied as the subject matter I enjoy. As a rule I do not tend towards biographical works. However, something about this new Michael J. Fox book has snagged my attention. In the past 4 days alone I have seen over a dozen random references to its release. I caught a quick video clip form his Oprah interview and he is
Also, because I am not an optimist, the title alone peeks even more of my curiosity ... "Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist."
SYNOPSIS :: There are many words to describe Michael J. Fox: Actor. Husband. Father. Activist. But readers of Always Looking Up will soon add another to the list: Optimist. Michael writes about the hard-won perspective that helped him see challenges as opportunities. Instead of building walls around himself, he developed a personal policy of engagement and discovery: an emotional, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual outlook that has served him throughout his struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Michael’s exit from a very demanding, very public arena offered him the time–and the inspiration–to open up new doors leading to unexpected places. One door even led him to the center of his own family, the greatest destination of all.

Spring has Sprung at the Boatman Casa
Rarely do I get excited about yard work, but this year I seem to be singing a different tune. Not only was I happy to see the grass start to green and the trees begin to sprout again ... I made a special trip to home depot, picked out some flowers and added them to our already blossoming flora. Here are a few early spring shots of our cute little buds.

Justin Timberlake is producing a new reality show for MTV called The Phone, and it's sure to get participants' and viewers' hearts racing.
The Phone is based on a Dutch TV show, which pits contestants in a race against time and each other to accomplish a mission and win a cash prize.
Here’s a synopsis via Access Hollywood: Each episode will begin with two strategically placed cell phones ringing at opposite ends of a major metropolitan city. Once answered, a mysterious guide gives contestants five seconds to decide if they want to play the game.
If they accept, the competition begins, throwing the two contestants into an intense race, where they must communicate via cell phone to succeed.
The guide will also be communicating with the game players via cell phone, as a helicopter in the sky tracks their every move, exploit and error – with each failed task chipping away at the cash prize.

Lyrics
I'm not even going to post who these lyrics are by. It is was divine intervention that I even heard the song and the words were exactly what I needed today. They are simple. They are perfect. I love this.
I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head sayin,
You'll never reach it,
Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high
There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing,
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
No I'm not breaking
I may I know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on,
There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It's all about
It's all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith
I can almost see it

Give 'em your opinion ...
The 5 finalists for the design of the new Atlanta Center for Civil & Human Rights Museum have presented their concepts. Please visit www.cchrpartnership.org/blog and leave a comment on your favorite or each one. They are looking for feedback from the residents of Atlanta about what you would like to see downtown. Keep in mind it is located right next to Centennial Olympic Park, the World of Coka and the Georgia Aquarium ... there is loads of green space divided between these already existing attractions and that seems to the idea behind a few of the design options. Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback.

Clean House
My girl Niecy Nash and the cast of the Style Network Show "Clean House" are filming in Austell this weekend. If you haven't seen this show, you are missing out. Niecy is a fun, flamboyant host with lots of attitude. She and her help homeowners who want to "stop the foolishness and get control of the cliutter." Some of the houses are truly agonizing to look at. I can't imagine living in such a disorganized, chaotic mess!!
The premise ... 1: clean out the home, 2: have a Yard Sale with the home owner's, 3: Niect matches the money made at the sale and 4: use that money to revamp and revitalize a few rooms in the house. I LOVE this show. Go on out to the sale if you can make it. Hey, if you buy something you may even get a little air time on the Style Network.

Sister-ly Inspiration
My sister Christy is wonderful in so many ways. I am constantly fascinated by her funky style and innovative solutions to common problems. Jewelry organization is something that is frustrating for me. I love some of the pieces that I've collected over the years, but I never had a great way to store them. Tangled necklaces and separated earring sets are just not fun. Her recent blog idea was the PERFECT solution to my pesky problem. My version isn't as adorable as her artichoke fabric covered version, but it does the job. THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRISTY!!
Basic formula: bulletin board + ribbon + decorative tacks + cup hooks + fabric (optional) = fun & functional jewelry organization!!!

My love.
To my best friend on our anniversary,
You have made this last year the best one of my life. I look forward to having more adventures and making more memories with you every day for the rest of our lives. In such a short span of time we have experienced excitement and sadness, joy and disappointment, happiness and pain. We have reached some goals and fallen short of others. We have tried new things and discarded some old habits. We have loved and we have lost. I know that our lives together will continue to be full of all of these things, but the prospect of facing it all with you as my partner makes it all a little less overwhelming.
My hope for the coming year is that we continue to keep living to the fullest and take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to us, no matter how large or how small. Thank you for making me a priority in your life. Thank you for always keeping our collective best interest at heart. Thank you for thinking of me even when we are apart. Thank you for always being you, regardless of the audience. Thank you for appreciating my individuality and my value. Thank you for wanting me to succeed. Thank you for always loving me back. You are my best friend and I am proud to be your wife.
Love you.
